EarthWise Edition #1

EarthWise

Adventure4ever

Jan 26, 2026

2026 is officially the year of the 'Enviro-Cool' 🌎🍃

Introduction

Welcome to the Earthwise Newsletter! At Foundation Adventure4ever, our mission is to keep you informed, inspired, and connected to what’s shaping our world - from climate and environmental action to public policies, community-led initiatives, tourism updates, and key political developments that influence this landscape.

Beyond encouraging personal reflection on what we do as individuals, at the core of our work we also ask: “What are our partners and colleagues doing to make a real difference in environmental reform?”. This newsletter brings those answers to you. It’s designed for YOU, so you stay up to date on the most relevant news, ideas, and movements in environmental action and sustainability.

Along the way, you’ll discover concrete examples of how individuals and organizations are already creating positive change in the world today. We also recognize that some news may be challenging or disturbing. We share them not to discourage, but to ignite awareness and action. Because meaningful change begins when we face reality and choose to act.

Finally, we invite you to bring others along. Help grow this community of engaged and interested individuals who believe in the need for change and in taking action to support our environment back to what it does best: sustaining life and all that thrives on this planet.

Message From Our Founder

Hey EarthWise Family,

Forget the standard "prosperous 2026" clichés. Let’s talk about what’s actually happening: Change is in the air.

More and more people are stepping up to the plate to give our planet the respect it deserves, and quite frankly, it’s becoming the "cool" place to be. We’re inviting you inside the 'Circle of Life' - our 'enviro-world' is waiting for you.

The shift is real.

It’s incredible to see the tourism world finally sliding into its new role: working with the locals instead of over them. It’s a fantastic move, and it’s going to change everything for the traveler. We’re moving away from "sightseeing" and toward meaningful memories that actually stick to your soul.

What’s 'cooking' at home base?

With EarthWise, we’re going to keep you updated on everything we’re whipping up here at the foundation and the special events we’re hitting - starting right now, this month! Keeping you in the loop on the latest 'enviro-news' is our monthly mission.

To our legacy partners: You’ve been the roots of this foundation. Welcome back. To our new 'Seedlings': A massive, heartfelt welcome.

We consider every one of you a member of our team. We’re glad you’re here, taking that big step with us to make the circle of our environment whole again.

Let’s go ‘Full Circle’.

FULL CIRCLE

Our current project, Full Circle, is a documentary film series that explores the wisdom of both modern and ancient communities in balancing culture and environmental stewardship. This is not a conventional documentary - it is a series about, for, and by the people.

We are currently fundraising to bring this project to life, and we invite you to join us on this journey toward a more sustainable future for all. Your support will help preserve cultural heritage, protect the environment, and empower communities to lead meaningful change.

On January 28th at 17:00 (CET), we will host an online event to unveil our new visual identity and present more details about the Full Circle project. If you would like to join us, please get in touch. We would love to share this important milestone with you.

What are we doing?

  • Growing our team

Adventure4ever has taken major steps forward in recent months. We’re excited to share that our team has grown from 9 people to 15 dedicated, skilled individuals, all committed to advancing our sustainability and environmental goals.

We are now organized into two teams: Fundraising and Communications. Both working together to build awareness and secure the support needed to bring our newest project, Full Circle, to life.

A Sneak Peek Into What Our Team Is Up To

Michelle Kral - Expert Advisor: Biodiversity Conservation

"I am a wildlife conservation biologist specialised in the interactions between humans and wildlife. I was born and raised in the Netherlands, but I have spent the majority of my adult life in southern Africa working in the conservation sector. In 2024 I completed my PhD in Wildlife Ecology and Conservation, studying cheetah behaviour in the farmlands of Botswana to move from human-wildlife conflict to coexistence. Living remote in the Kalahari desert I witnessed on a daily basis how initial individual actions around the environment and community can have cascading positive effects on people and the planet. But these initiatives do not always reach the public - this is why I am so excited to join the Full Circle project to share this message with a broader audience. In my role of Expert Advisor at Adventure4Ever I will seek out inspiring sustainable, scientifically sound initiatives taking places across different countries that deserve to be highlighted. Whether I do research on Indigenous wisdom keeping and land restoration in Finland, or lynx restoration in Estonia, I will make sure our storytelling is backed up by science. I am looking forward to bringing stories to you of hope and connection to our Earth."

And our team is getting involved too! Engin Taskaya, our Communications Specialist, taught a special class to students in Turkey about sustainability!

  • Fundraising

We have identified a list of countries and regions we would like to feature in our documentary film. We are currently reaching out to national and regional tourism boards and agencies in these countries to explore opportunities for collaboration and support for the project, and we are currently planning to schedule advance scouting / press trips for the second quarter of 2026.

  • Past Events

Last November, our founder Jillian Macdonald, together with senior cinematographer Poyraz Saroglu, attended WTM  (World Travel Market) London, one of the world’s most important travel trade shows. This year’s event also featured the Tourism Sustainability Summit.

The numerous meetings and conversations with Tourism Board Directors and distinguished guest speakers were highly successful, not only for the Foundation as a whole, but especially for Full Circle, which was met with strong interest, optimism, and an eagerness to participate.

  • Upcoming Events

We will be attending two major events in the coming months, which we hope will be valuable opportunities for networking and bringing more people into our project.

In January, we will be at Vakantiebeurs in Utrecht, the Netherlands’ leading event for travel enthusiasts and outdoor lovers.

Also in January, we are looking forward to attending the Caravana Trade Show in Leeuwarden, also in the Netherlands, focused on the camping and leisure sector, re-engaging with potential partners/in-kind sponsors who are supporting our ‘Full Circle’ series. We will share updates and insights from both events in our next newsletter.

And that’s not all! We’ve got more exciting things on the way. Our founder, Jillian, will be a guest on the We Need to Act podcast in January and will also deliver an incredible masterclass for the Travel Media Academy! - Master’s program!

  • Events to keep an eye on

  1. Global Web Summit (February 2026), Qatar - Technology growth
