On the Turkish Mediterranean coast, running between the cities of Fethiye and Antalya, the Lycian way offers spectacular hiking over a distance of approximately 550 kilometres. The landscape varies from cosy coves, through rugged limestone cliffs to high snow-capped mountains. Shepherds roam the meadows and every so often we pass picturesque villages and remnants of ancient Lycia. We have put aside a six week period in order to attempt the full route which will be rugged, considering the huge variants in elevation let alone distance. With expert Kate Clow, we should be able to manage.
